Singapore (
i/ˈsɪŋɡəpɔːr/), officially the Republic of Singapore, and often referred to as the Lion City, the Garden City, and the Red Dot, is a global city in Southeast Asia and the world's only island city-state. It lies one degree (137 km) north of the equator, at the southernmost tip of continental Asia and peninsular Malaysia, with Indonesia's Riau Islands to the south. Singapore's territory consists of the diamond-shaped main island and 62 islets. Since independence, extensive land reclamation has increased its total size by 23% (130 km2), and its greening policy has covered the densely populated island with tropical flora, parks and gardens.
The islands were settled from the second century AD by a series of local empires. In 1819, Sir Stamford Raffles founded modern Singapore as a trading post of the East India Company; after the company collapsed, the islands were ceded to Britain and became part of its Straits Settlements in 1826. During World War II, Singapore was occupied by Japan. It gained independence from Britain in 1963, by uniting with other former British territories to form Malaysia, but was expelled two years later over ideological differences. After early years of turbulence, and despite lacking natural resources and a hinterland, the nation developed rapidly as an Asian tiger economy, based on external trade and its human capital.

Singapore dollar
The Singapore dollar or dollar (Malay: Ringgit Singapura, sign: $; code: SGD) is the official currency of Singapore. It is normally abbreviated with the dollar sign $, or alternatively S$ to distinguish it from other dollar-denominated currencies. It is divided into 100 cents.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Monetary Authorty of Brunei Darussalam (Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam) still maintain the historic exchangeability of their two currencies, the Singaporean dollar and the Brunei dollar, respectively. The Singapore dollar is accepted as "customary tender" in Brunei according to the Currency Interchangeability Agreement. Likewise, the Brunei dollar is customarily accepted in Singapore.
History
Between 1845 and 1939, Singapore used the Straits dollar. This was replaced by the Malayan dollar, and, from 1953, the Malaya and British Borneo dollar, which were issued by the Board of Commissioners of Currency, Malaya and British Borneo.
Singapore continued to use the common currency upon joining Malaysia in 1963, but only two years after Singapore's expulsion and independence from Malaysia in 1965, the monetary union between Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei broke down. Singapore established the Board of Commissioners of Currency, Singapore, on 7 April 1967 and issued its first coins and notes. Nevertheless, the Singapore dollar was exchangeable at par with the Malaysian ringgit until 1973, and interchangeability with the Brunei dollar is still maintained.

Singapore is a 1947 American romance film directed by John Brahm and starring Fred MacMurray and Ava Gardner. The film was remade as Istanbul (1957) with the location moved to Turkey, and Errol Flynn and Cornell Borchers in the starring roles.
Plot
Pearl smuggler Matt Gordon (Fred MacMurray) finds romance with Linda Grahame (Ava Gardner) just before the start of World War II. He proposes to her, and she accepts. However, when the Japanese attack Singapore, the church where she is waiting to marry him is bombed; Gordon searches frantically in the wreckage, but cannot find her. He is forced to sail away on his schooner.
With the end of the war, Gordon returns after five years and is met by Deputy Commissioner Hewitt (Richard Haydn), who is convinced he has returned for a hidden cache of pearls. So are Gordon's old criminal associates, Mr. Mauribus (Thomas Gomez) and his underling Sascha Barda (George Lloyd). Mauribus offers to buy the pearls, but Gordon denies he has any.

Upon entering, you'll be welcomed by a grand private lift lobby, adorned with two lifts on either end - serving as your transition into the main living spaces.
The living area boasts soaring nine-meter ceilings, accompanied by full-length glass panels that offer panoramic views over the Singapore cityline.
This voluminous living space certainly establishes an immediate sense of grandeur, and is perfect for hosting large social gatherings.
It’s also worth noting that the unit was left intentionally empty, allowing the next occupant to fully customize the home to their needs.
Continuing on, we discover the dining area - again with captivating views over the bay and the iconic Marina Bay Sands.
A dry kitchen is set to the side, and it could easily double as a bar counter.

3 bedrooms are set on this wing, with the 2 initial bedrooms sharing a common bath.
The 3rd bedroom is accompanied by a private bath, with all these bedrooms, and the initial kitchen linked by a long open terrace.
On the opposite wing, you’ll find the larger bedrooms. The master bedroom is undoubtedly spacious, with another open terrace, this time overlooking the CBD.
It can be combined with the adjacent room (also an ensuite) to create a seamless open floor plan with a walk-in wardrobe and a lounge area.
The master bath features dual sinks, a bathtub, a separate shower area, and even a sauna.
Heading to the upper levels, we find a number of utility areas, like a common bath and shower, located right by a long entryway with glass ceiling panels running all the way down. A wet kitchen is set at the end of the entryway.

A sky patio is set on the opposite wing. This area is perfect for hosting barbeques, and could also be converted into an outdoor garden if desired.

Wallich Residence is Singapore's tallest residential development, standing at 290 metres tall. Built by GuocoLand in 2018, it is a luxurious development with just 181 units. With even the "lowest" unit starting at 180 metres, you can be guaranteed sweeping views over the Singapore city centre.
Wallich Residence might also be more famously known for the previous occupier of its 21,108 square feet super penthouse. Unless you've been living under a rock all this time, that person was British billionaire James Dyson, who bought it for a record penthouse purchase price of $73.8 million (it has been since resold for $62 million). Other than it's record price, it is the largest non-landed residence and obviously at the highest living point in Singapore as well.
The facilities are pretty lush too. The actual entrance on the first floor is quite nondescript, but once you step inside, you can feel that it is an upmarket property. It feels like you are at a 5-star hotel, with comfortable seating areas and drink service. There are lots of entertainment areas too, a big gym for 181 units, and a stunning infinity pool. Of course as with any city centre development, it is super convenient but suffers from overcrowded-ness once you step out on the ground floor.

In this week’s episode, we explore the biggest, and most expensive home we’ve ever toured to date on our channel.
Spanning 11,012 sqft, this $60.6m super triplex penthouse is set atop the 53rd story of Marina Bay Residences, featuring five bedrooms, a 25-meter private lap pool, and an entire open roof deck.
In fact, this unit is just one of three penthouses in all of Singapore with an unblocked panorama of the bay area. It also boasts views over the CBD skyline on one side, as well as the meandering Singapore River down below.
Upon entering, you'll be welcomed by a grand private lift lobby, adorned with two lifts on either end - serving as your transition into the main living spaces.
The living area boasts soaring nine-meter ceilings, accompanied by full-length glass panels that offer panoramic views over the Singapore cityline.
This voluminous living space certainly establishes an immediate sense of grandeur, and is perfect for hosting large social gatherings.
It’s also worth noting that the unit was left intentionally empty, allowing the next occupant to fully customize the home to their needs.
Continuing on, we discover the dining area - again with captivating views over the bay and the iconic Marina Bay Sands.
A dry kitchen is set to the side, and it could easily double as a bar counter.
The wet kitchen is situated further down. It’s well-lit, and set in a spacious galley layout, with direct access to an open terrace, providing glimpses of the Singapore Straits.
Moving on, a passageway leads to the family room, connecting the penthouse's five bedrooms while ensuring a private retreat from the main common areas. The bedroom wing comprises generously sized rooms, each revealing stunning views of the water.
3 bedrooms are set on this wing, with the 2 initial bedrooms sharing a common bath.
The 3rd bedroom is accompanied by a private bath, with all these bedrooms, and the initial kitchen linked by a long open terrace.
On the opposite wing, you’ll find the larger bedrooms. The master bedroom is undoubtedly spacious, with another open terrace, this time overlooking the CBD.
It can be combined with the adjacent room (also an ensuite) to create a seamless open floor plan with a walk-in wardrobe and a lounge area.
The master bath features dual sinks, a bathtub, a separate shower area, and even a sauna.
Heading to the upper levels, we find a number of utility areas, like a common bath and shower, located right by a long entryway with glass ceiling panels running all the way down. A wet kitchen is set at the end of the entryway.
Outside, we find a 25-meter lap pool, making it one of, if not, the largest private indoor pool in Singapore - complete with sweeping bay views.
Right next to it is a steam room for both the owners and guests to utilise after their dips.
A sky patio is set on the opposite wing. This area is perfect for hosting barbeques, and could also be converted into an outdoor garden if desired.
Stairs lead up to the sky deck, with panoramic views from north to south.
This space is entirely customisable, and could be renovated into a cigar lounge, sky study, or an enclosed observatory deck overlooking the cityscape.

Wallich Residence is Singapore's tallest residential development, standing at 290 metres tall. Built by GuocoLand in 2018, it is a luxurious development with just 181 units. With even the "lowest" unit starting at 180 metres, you can be guaranteed sweeping views over the Singapore city centre.
Wallich Residence might also be more famously known for the previous occupier of its 21,108 square feet super penthouse. Unless you've been living under a rock all this time, that person was British billionaire James Dyson, who bought it for a record penthouse purchase price of $73.8 million (it has been since resold for $62 million). Other than it's record price, it is the largest non-landed residence and obviously at the highest living point in Singapore as well.
The facilities are pretty lush too. The actual entrance on the first floor is quite nondescript, but once you step inside, you can feel that it is an upmarket property. It feels like you are at a 5-star hotel, with comfortable seating areas and drink service. There are lots of entertainment areas too, a big gym for 181 units, and a stunning infinity pool. Of course as with any city centre development, it is super convenient but suffers from overcrowded-ness once you step out on the ground floor.

Melvin Lim and Adrian Lim started PropertyLimBrothers with an intention to market each property to its fullest potential for home sellers and to solve the core problem of the conventional brokerage method with the PLB Team Model, with reverse engineering to add immense value to consumers.
From humble beginnings as Singapore prison officers in 2004, co-founders Melvin and Adrian ventured into the real estate industry in 2007 as traditional agents. With the property industry getting increasingly competitive, they knew they had to be different. In 2017, they started the first video home tour in Singapore with a presenter show and tell format, and have never stopped since!
‘Til date, PLB has crafted more than 1,500 videos on our YouTube channel since its formation. In the last 3 years, 720 of them were Home Tour videos. We have also successfully sold 516 properties in the last 24 months and helped 110 Home Buyers purchase their dream homes in the year 2021. We target the right audience, positioning each property in its truest and best form.
Since 2017, we have grown together with our audience, our clients and the real estate market. Our team has grown from a mere two people working in a small office to 105 full-time colleagues working hand-in-hand to provide our PLB 7-man Team Model to our extensive clients through in-house Media Production, Digital Marketing, Social Media, Inside Sales Consulting, Research, Insights, and Client Support.
In 2022, PropertyLimBrothers ventured out on our own under PLB Realty. Our newly established realty arm will harness the power of our existing media company to offer property sales, digital marketing, branding, research, and analytics tools on our one-stop online platform.

Singapore (i/ˈsɪŋɡəpɔːr/), officially the Republic of Singapore, and often referred to as the Lion City, the Garden City, and the Red Dot, is a global city in Southeast Asia and the world's only island city-state. It lies one degree (137 km) north of the equator, at the southernmost tip of continental Asia and peninsular Malaysia, with Indonesia's Riau Islands to the south. The islands were settled from the second century AD by a series of local empires. In 1819, Sir Stamford Raffles founded modern Singapore as a trading post of the East India Company; after the company collapsed, the islands were ceded to Britain and became part of its Straits Settlements in 1826. During World War II, Singapore was occupied by Japan. It gained independence from Britain in 1963, by uniting with other former British territories to form Malaysia, but was expelled two years later over ideological differences. After early years of turbulence, and despite lacking natural resources and a hinterland, the nation developed rapidly as an Asian tiger economy, based on external trade and its human capital.
